WHAT IS SINGLES FOCUS GROUP ?

BUILDING COMMUNITY , CELEBRATING LIFE.

Singles Focus Group (SFG) was pioneered in January 2004 by Seok Ai and a group of singles for the purpose of creating a community of singles to celebrate life and friendship together.

SFG aims to provide a conducive and Christ-centred environment for Christian singles to :

1. discuss in confidence issues and concerns pertaining to singlehood and to Life.

2. encourage and build up one another in the Lord.

3. forge new and wholesome friendships.

4. share and maximise personal resources.

FOR WHO ?

Any single Christian who is a working adult 25 years old & above

WHAT ABOUT ?

SFG meets on the 4th Saturday (unless otherwise stated) of every month for formal group fellowship. Each session of about 2 hours includes time for getting to know one another, focussed discussion on the day’s topic as well as time for exhortation and prayer.

Members of SFG are encouraged to initiate activities and organise get-togethers on every other Saturday.

BY WHO?

Sessions will be facilitated by Seok Ai who is a counselling psychologist and has served as a missionary with Campus Crusade for Christ for many years. She is married to Richard and has 2 grown children. She is currently working with Students Care Service (Clementi), a counselling centre for children and youths.

A NOTE FROM THE FOUNDER

In mid 2003, Monica and I got together to talk about the needs of singles and felt burdened by the Lord to be instrumental in meeting those needs. Hence, the birth of Singles Focus Group ( SFG ) in 2004.

Singles Focus Group was pioneered with the vision of providing a platform where issues pertaining to single hood and life can be discussed with an open mind. Singles are encouraged to look beyond Self and to seek out wholesome friendships with others. The spirit of SFG lies in the ability to celebrate life and to enjoy each moment of our journey together.

It is our sincere prayer that you can be a part of the SFG community and take steps to make a difference in the life of someone through the
ministry.

SFG Culture

A Note to All Sfgian:

1. SFG was created for the purpose of celebrating friendship & providing mutual support among singles, & not for the purpose of “SDU”. However, if love happens, & you find a soul-mate here, praise the Lord! When that happens, kindly inform the group. You may however, remain to serve in the ministry.

2. SFG is not liable for any unhappy personal events that may happen in your courtship or marriage.

3. SFG is a ministry for the singles & by the singles. Hence, ALL SFGians are strongly encouraged to take the initiative to get to know one another, form Prayer and Interest groups as well as take turns to organise social events. In order to benefit fully from the ministry, everyone is encouraged to contribute in one way or another. If you like to initiate an event, please write to seokai@singlesfocusgroup.org and appropriate follow-up actions will be taken.

4. Dates for SFG regular meetings are etched in stone & any events initiated by members should not clash with these dates.

5. If you need prayers, kindly come half an hour earlier during our regular meetings and approach our leaders.

6. You may announce any personal needs, requests or invites (e.g. room for rent, dog for sale) through our website or during our meetings, but only after prior approval from the leaders has been obtained.

7. Please kindly refrain from soliciting business from our members. SFGians should approach you on their own accord. You may however, advertise your business on our assigned space on the website.

8. SFG runs on freewill offering.
